At the beginning of the pandemic, I knew that I had to be extra vigilant because there were so many different ways that I was at risk. As I began to share more about my illness with people it hit me that there were so many similarities with the onset of my rare illness and the current pandemic.
My illness has so few people who have it so it hasn't really been researched what can happen or ways to treat or prevent it. However, there is a lot of anecdotal treatment to assist. What we're dealing with now is novel and if my illness could start similarly and not show up until decades later, the same could be true now.
